Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church

This week’s daily prayer for April 3 to April 9 is from Pastor Al.

Lord Jesus, your resurrection is proof that life and not death has the final say. Impress this truth upon our hearts, we pray,

as injustice, violence, and cruelty rage all around.

You are the God of the living!

Amen

Tell Me Something Good Devotional

This Sunday we celebrate Easter. Jesus is risen! The Good News is…alive in the world. Do not be afraid. Go back to Galilee where it all started. Go back to Galilee and celebrate like we did at the beginning when we were not afraid. Go and you will find Jesus, free in the world in the faces of strangers and neighbors.

In our remaining time in the devotional, which takes us through Eastertide, consider the ways good news meets you in your present circumstances. Where have you noticed good news in the world, and what do you desire to hold onto moving forward? Where else might God be pointing you toward goodness? We hope your time in the devotional and in the company of fellow travelers has been a blessing and that it has helped root you in the good news of Jesus Christ.

Maundy Thursday Evening Gathering, April 2 at 6:00PM

“Just before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that the time had come to leave this world to go to the Father. Having loved his dear companions, he continued to love them right to the end.”—Jn 13:1-2.

Jesus eagerly desired to be with his friends and brought them together one last time before his time of trial. That evening, he shared a meal with them and got up from supper to wash his disciples’ feet as an example of how they are to live—extending grace to all, vulnerable and enemy alike.

We too are invited to share a meal together with Jesus and each other on Maundy Thursday, April 2nd, 6:00 PM, before Good Friday comes. That evening, we will gather in the church sanctuary and a light meal will be provided. We will also practice what he taught us by washing each other’s feet. While this might evoke some hesitance within you, as it did with Peter, we hope to help each other lean into this practice of radical love that Jesus wants us to embody. While you will not be required to have your feet washed, we ask that you prayerfully consider how you would like to offer your love and presence to Jesus that evening.

Good Friday Service, April 3 at 7PM

Easter Offering (So far, we have received only a few offerings)

This Easter, we would like to take a special offering for Esther Moses Badung’s (Sunday Agang’s daughter) TRASE (Trauma Resilience and Sustainable Empowerment) Project.

“TRASE is not just a poverty alleviation scheme: it is a holistic initiative that aims to empower individuals and families suffering from trauma, especially trauma resulting from the ongoing Fulani herdsmen kidnapping, attacks and killings, to rebuild their lives,

rediscover their God-given potential, and become agents of positive change.”

You can read more about this project here.

You can give by putting a check in our offering box (marked for the Easter offering) or give online.

Longing and Lament in Anxious Times Workshop, Saturday April 11, 9AM-11AM

What can help us in the healing of the personal and collective grief that we may feel during this anxious moment in our lives and in the life of our church, nation and the world?

Come and learn about the ancient prayer of lament on Saturday, April 11, from 9-11 am in our church sanctuary. You will have the opportunity to practice writing your own psalm of lament to help express your longings and grief to the One who holds us all in His healing, wounded hands. We can pray in lament during Eastertide because our Risen Savior promises new life and hope in the midst of suffering.

Karen Seth facilitated this workshop for New College Berkeley in February 2026 and has agreed to offer it to us at GFCC. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.

Please sign up if you are interested by April 9.

Easter Greetings from Sunday Agang

Grace Fellowship Community Church all took a collective sigh of relief last Thursday afternoon when we heard that Sunday had been released and was back with his family.

Read his email of Easter greetings and expressing his gratitude for our prayers.

Sunday also forwarded the attached news article which is a survivor’s documented account that reveals a direct link between systemic injustice and the rise of criminal networks in the North-West and North-Central regions.
