Daily Prayer at 12PM by the People of Grace Fellowship Community Church

This week’s daily prayer for November 7 to November 13 is from Pastor Al.

God of the desperate, have mercy upon refugees, who currently number almost 43 million people in the world.

They are fleeing natural disasters, food and water scarcity, political chaos, and violence. As more nations close their borders, they have nowhere to go.

Please hear their desperate cries, we pray, and act by your love and power.

In Jesus’ name…

Writing the Daily Prayer for our Weekly Email

Have you been burdened by something you heard on the news? Has your quiet time revealed a prayer that you want to share?

If so, please consider writing the daily prayer for our congregation’s noon prayer. If interested, please contact the pastors or the church office.

Thanks Laurie for Hosting the Peace Party Last Sunday

Urbana Dessert Night, Friday, November 7, 6:30pm - 7:30pm at Church

Join InterVarsity students from SFSU & CCSF as they seek to raise funds for Urbana, an IV conference where students grow in their understanding of how God is calling them to be on mission in the world. Students will testify to how God has been at work this semester, lead worship, and share their hopes from Urbana.

Join us on November 7th from 6:30-7:30 in the church courtyard. Email Brenden with any questions: brenden.graczak@intervarsity.org

Frank Lee Memorial Service, Sunday, November 9 at 1:00 at Church

A lunch reception will follow the service.

(As many of us will be staying for the Memorial Service, a light snack will be served in the courtyard after church service to tie us over.)

Grace Fellowship Community Church Anniversary Potluck Celebration, Sunday, November 16

On November 16, Grace Fellowship will be celebrating its 42nd anniversary!

42 years ago, on Sunday, November 20, 1983, 30+ members from the Chinatown Cumberland Presbyterian Church worshipped together for the first time as Grace Fellowship Community Church at Portalhurst Presbyterian Church in the Sunset district of San Francisco.

Praise be to God for His faithfulness and bounty to our congregation. Let’s celebrate together by bringing your favorite dish to share during our potluck lunch.

Volunteer for the Food Pantry

The government has been shut down for a month now. Federal employees are missing paychecks and the SNAP food assistance program is running out of money. This means that the San Francisco Marin Food Bank is facing challenges in providing enough for those who are food insecure.

We will probably see a surge of families needing help in obtaining food. If you can volunteer with the Saturday food pantry, please do so by signing up.

Volunteer to Help Tutor our Kaleo Members

There is a need to help non-English speaking members of our church community learn English. If you have time during the week to tutor, please let Caroline Kennedy know. No experience required, just a serving heart.

Christmas Tree Theme

We will be redecorating our church Christmas Tree this year. Our new theme is "For God so Loved the World." The youth will be making a garland with the theme in different languages and we will still use some of our chrismons.

We would like the congregation to donate ornaments that you make or purchase. It would be great if we can have ornaments from all around the world. We will be collecting ornaments soon.

Please contact Linda Kay or Lisa Balzer if you have any questions.

Good Samaritan Fund (GSF)

Grace Fellowship Community Church created the Good Samaritan Fund to provide financial aid to our members and neighbors in need. The fund is running low and if you are led to contribute to the GSF, you can do so on our giving portal.

www.gfccsf.org/give.

Christmas Church Directory

Each year, there is a request from congregants to send out a new directory. (The last one was published in 2016!) The staff is working on publishing a directory of regular attendees of our church service.

If you are a regular attendee of our church and do not wish to have your contact information shared, please contact the church office at office@gfccsf.org and indicate your wish to opt out of this directory.

The directory will only be given out upon request.

Freedom Stories

We have been blessed hearing Freedom Stories from our brothers and sisters in our congregation. Let this be an open invitation to anyone who wants to share his/her freedom story with the congregation; please contact Pastors Al or Paul.
